Unrequited Love

The Chinese drama is engaging due to the classmates & their involvements. The lead get together at the end, as expected. I had been postponing the watch fearing the sad end. But all is good.

Hu Yitian from ‘A love so beautiful’ as Jiang Chen was slightly built & slim face. Here, his face has filled up & his gait has changed. He looks much more mature. Good, but different. As Sheng Huainan he has many friends & is loved by girls.

Cheng being dumb is one & the others like Ye Zhanyan , also Ding Shuijing contributing to the confusion tore them apart.

Hu Bingqing as Luo Zhi is slim, slender & a delight to watch . I had been watching her for the first time. With her hair tied or loose her face changes & so do the years seem to fall off.

She is idolising her classmate for fifteen years. When he enters the same university, she gets a chance to really meet him. He starts to fall for her. When he says , ‘I wish we had met earlier’ she just looks at him.

I just loved her personality. Sometimes, she is timid, running away. But then we realise that the mis understandings are there. They cannot go away with words. When she doesn’t explain but the evidences speak, he comes to realise that she was always there. It is just that but he never saw!

Zhang Yijie had a difficult role as Zhang Mingrui . He is a easy going person. He resembles Woo Do hwan, from Min ho’s ‘The King: the eternal Monarch’ a South Korean drama. I love watching him. He is honest with his work, but then so is Zhang!

Makes friends easily but when the girls get introduced to Sheng Huainan they want him as their boyfriend. He realises the girls approach him because he is close to Sheng. He loves Luo Zhi. From besties, he cannot progress further. Now, his was a classical case of unrequited love!

First Xu Riqing, who idolised Sheng but it appeared that she has feelings for Zhang now. But he breaks up with her when he realises that he cannot go on like this. He does get together with an honest friend.

Ge Bi is torn between Chen Mohan & Jiang Baili. In a few scenes he resembles Lee Seung ji, that may be because I watch more Korean dramas & am in search of similarities!

The arc of Baili ‘s character is better. She changes herself & is not given to moping. She finds her vocation in life. Chen Mohan is manipulative & being rich gets what she wants. How typical!

Trying to find which story resembles this, I had a good time, honestly.
