It is a Japanese drama made in 2021. ‘Dearest’ also known as Beloved, Deepest Affection. With ten episodes. Directed by Tsukahara Ayuko, Yamamoto Takeyoshi, Murao Yoshiaki.
Starring Yoshitaka Yuriko, Matsushita Kouhei, Iura Arata with others. It is a suspense thriller. A love story centred around Sanada Rio, a businesswoman & the Detective who is Rio’s first love. Also a lawyer, Mr Kase who wants to protect her by all means.
It is tightly written & edited. The gore is swept aside & only the relevant scenes included. The discretion is laudable. A kid involved, her brother, a witness is handled beautifully. Very rarely is a murder in the first episode shown so well.
Mysteries & Rom com is my forte. I can guarantee a charming drama that this is developing into.
Interesting to note that in another Japanese drama ‘My Happy Marriage’ has the lead named Miyo & here it is Rio. Also Miyo comes from the house of Saimori’s , Riyo is a Sanada. Both leave their house to live in a palatial place. Miyo goes to get married, Rio goes to her mother to inherit wealth & become a CEO.
