Salai or Dearest

The Japanese drama has all that makes you sit glued to your seat. The murders of Son, fifteen years ago & the father, now attract attention of the Sanada Wellness in the media, with their CEO connected to it somehow.

Among the journalists is a persistent lady, a freelancer , Shiori Tachibana, who initially helped by Shinsuke Goto is dumped unceremoniously. From the boot of his car she walks away is an achievement. He could’ve got her killed anytime.

Now, she is found on the ground having fallen from a tall apartment. Just the day before she had met with Rio Sanada. How is this going to pan out?

Sanada’s brother Yu was arrested but later released. He plans to take part in the drug trials. He may or maynot get cured, his participation is the fruit of all the efforts that Rio has put in! Whole of the fifteen years!

He invites the detective, Dai to his place for dinner. Also when the situation gets tense, prods him to not run away. How the boy has matured! Also leaves them alone to buy drinks. Their conversation is handles so delicately. She had decided to not meet him again. Gradually they are comfortable around each other.

The Korean drama would have used it to become mushy. This does not. They take delight in just being there.

Mr Kase, always there to help out the Sanada family is intriguing. He is a pillar of support. He helps out Yu & also takes a blow for Rio. Getting hurt is not one of his duties. He is attentive but unobstructing. Never shows any overt feelings. Goes & meets with people when he wants. He is a constant member eating at the table of the family.

His charter glows & stands out. He has declared earlier that he will do anything to protect the family & he does. With his skills, trained as a lawyer, he does everything within his limits.

He has inspired Yu to become a lawyer by being a role model. Such selfless characters are very rare to be found. They work for their duty & beyond.

Four more episodes to go. It remains intriguing.
