It is a Japanese anime TV series. Written by Takao Yoshioka. Directed by Masashi Ishihama.
It is based on ‘Horimiya’ by Daisuke Hagiwara.
The story follows the growing relationship of two high school students, Kyouko Hori & Izumi Miyamura.
In 2022, it won the 6th Crunchyroll Anime Award for best romance.
If I compare it to ‘The Ramparts of Ice’ I find a glaring difference. The lead in it has everything in her head. Her struggles are because people find her weird & keep her at a distance. Here, Hori is outgoing & her friend, Miyamura is distant. He moves easily with his friends but hides his secrets.
He has a lot of tatoos on his body so refuses to change clothes or get into a ppol. For which he goes to extremes as declaring , he is on his period. And his friends & teachers accept.
I found that taboo subjects are spoken off so easily. I found it difficult to adjust to such topics.
