It is an American drama TV series. Created by Greg Berlanti. Starring Treat Williams, Gregory Smith, Emily VanCamp, Debra Mooney.
It begins with Dr Andy Brown moving his family to the fictional small town of Everwood, Colorado after the death of his wife.
The pilot was filmed in Calgery & Canmore, Alberta. Also Denver, Colorado. Later the series was filmed in Ogden, South Salt Lake, Draper & Park City, Utah.
Rotten Tomatoes gave 71 % for season 1, later raised to 100 % for the next seasons.
The series received 2 Emmy nominations. Treat Williams also received two Screen Actors Guild award nominations in 2003 & 2004 for his role as Dr . Andy Brown.
The series like all other dramas grapples with the loss of a family member. Dr Brown has never been there for his family but when his wife dies, he moves to a place coveted by his wife. She wants him to work for the poor. He starts giving his services for free. He tries to become the father that he never was.
Talking to his wife or imaging her everywhere, is his way of facing his personal loss. With it ‘s great success , it should have been renewed for the fifth season, but it was replaced by something new.
From Sept. 2002 to June 5, 2006, it ran with good fan following. It has that freshness which makes the viewing a delight.
