Korean Romantic drama no. 1

The list by Susmita Mahanta, a PhD scholar goes so well with my Personal taste! An avid fan of K-pop & K-dramas, she mostly writes about Korean culture & entertainment. Wow!

It list starts with or the affair starts with ‘Crash Landing on You’ starring our favourite stars of all time. The reel & real couple Hyun Bin & Son Ye jin. Against the backdrop of North & South Korea it tugs at the heart strings.

‘Legend of the Blue sea’ starring Lee Min ho & Jun Ji-hyun. The pair is lovely & the age old story of the Mermaid is ever fascinating. The odd ball that she appears is one of her finest performances.

‘It’s okay to not be okay’ is a cult film. If a romance can be different, it would be this! Kim Soo hyun at his best with the eccentric co-star Seo Yea ji. They shine together in this caper. If he fears what she will do next, we do too. With his challenged brother, Oh Jung se, to boot. Another excellent performance.

‘Heirs’ or “Inheritors” is another Lee Min ho gem with Park Shin hye. A pairing just right. The eternal triangle with Kim Woo bin, with sub plots that enrich the experience. Just have a look at the cast & the picture is clear.It has school, romance, position struggle & that quality of being ever fresh!

“Boys Over Flowers’ a classic. Another Lee Min ho. He stands tall in the series, where his main role was offered to all top notch actors , and had the courage to say YES! At a tender age of 21 he pulled off a miracle. Leader of the F4 we start by hating him. His permed hair to his arrogance. When he falls for Jan , there is no looking back. For him & for us.

‘Goblin’ or ‘Guardian : The Lonely & Great God’ if you fall for Gong Yoo in the ‘Coffee Prince’ it is game over, here. Along with Lee Dong wook, two handsome hunks in a story, side by side is too much to handle. Kim sun or Sunny by Yoo In na & Kim Go eun their love interests are more than that. Their stories are too cute.

Have you seen all? I have & more. Corona gave me time to watch, write, dwell & ponder over K dramas. It has brought me close to all these actors. They don’t know me, I know them all!
