It is a 2016 Chinese TV series . It stars Tiffany Tang, Luo jin, Vanness Wu, Mao Xiaotong, Li Xinai. It is adapted from the novel ‘The Poisonous Daughter’ by Qin Jian. It is a fictionalised account of Emperor Wencheng of Northern Wei’s reign & Empress Dowager Feng’s regency.
It has 54 episodes. It was one of the highest drama of 2016. The series was nominated for several awards, winning actor & actress both for Luo Jin & Tiffany Tang. Best Chinese language drama award at the 5th Annual Drama Fever Awards.
Later it’s spin-off ‘The song of Glory’ was aired in July 2020.
Escaping death, the Northern Liang’s princess Feng Xin Er assumes the identity of her saviour, Li Weiyoung. She wants to take revenge against the enemies who destroyed her kingdom.
The storyline is much like ‘Empress Ki’ a South Korean drama from 2013. A woman born in Korea navigates her way through love, war, politics to become a powerful empress in China’s Yuan dynasty.
Tiffany Tang with actor Luo Jin announced her relationship on 6 December 2016. They married in October 2018. In September 2019, they had a daughter. The drama worked for them.
In the drama ‘Diamond Lover’ Tiffany Tang accepts the marriage proposal by the second male lead played by Luo Jin. Rejecting Rain wasn’t something the audience liked. But we fall for unexpected ends!
