It is a 2022 Taiwanese drama mystery film.Literal meaning : About me & the Ghost becoming family. Supernatural comedy directed by Cheng Wei-hao. It stars Greg Hsu, Austin Lin & Gingle Wang.
The story combines traditional ghost marriage customs with police handling case, in the process of finding the truth, an affection between human & ghost starts.
The poster shows Greg Hsu & Gingle Wang. That led me to watch it. After watching ‘More than Blues’ I wanted to watch her. She has done an excellent job there. In this show, she has very little screen time.
The bond between the two leads then is nice. Only the initial scenes, a few are not so good. Certain sensitivity was needed. Later, our feelings change. So do the actors. The bromance brews to become a lovable duo.
The film was screened for it’s East Coast premiere at the 22nd New York Asian film Festival in Taiwan Transcendent’ section on 17 July 2023.
Director won a Golden harvest award for his earlier work. Producers Jin Bai-lun & Dennis Wu, served as judges of the 1st Let’s be wild in 2018, where writer Lai won the first prize for Best creative story in the contest for the original story of the film.
At that time the two liked the story very much & Lai also went onto win the Bucheon First prize at the Bucheon International Fantastic film Festival in 2020 for this story.
The story is good. It has been brought to the screen effectively.
