Again the happenings in the moonlight are interesting here. But that comes in the end. It is a story about a woman in mourning.Rebecca is a college professor & has lost her husband, Ben recently. She is coping with it. She has close friends with whom she can confide & a sister who she has brought up after their mother’s death.
Next door is this Painter with a dog who is the hot topic of their discussions. The open conversations they have is a delight. Very rarely do we see such a friendship! Each has demons of her own but that is revealed in the end.
Rebecca’s student gets interested in her sister, who is afraid of opening up in a relationship. Elizabeth Perkins, Jon Bon Jovi, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kathleen Turner, Whoopi Goldberg & others make up the cast. Each one has a significant role.
Rebecca styles her hair & gets noticed by the painter, who invites her to a pizza. They have a good time together which leads to closeness that she never imagined. for two days she remains holed up in her bed. Her friends come to the rescue. She has guilt of forgetting her husband & denying him the child that he wanted.
They form a group in the graveyard & talk of their’ wants’ in the circle made. Whoopi wants to be a better parent. Kathleen (Alberta) wants to know if it is possible to be a parent without giving birth. She wants to be a mother to Lucy. Gwyneth(Lucy) has nightmares & is very insecure but extends her hand towards Alberta. Rebecca wants to get over her guilt & live for herself. They shout & jump showing how well their session went.
