This is a state of mind. Should I do this or not. Whether or not , I do this ? It is nicely depicted with two characters. Sui & Mao. I consider them to be my mind states.
Sui is in a relationship with her boyfriend for seven years. Her medical report shows she is infertile. His parents ask him to reject her. An obedient boy! One query, did he take their persission for dating? Did they approve of her & then he proceeded?
Sui is devastated. He has no regrets. It spreads to their entire work place. People gossip behind her back. If he really was her boyfriend, should n’t he defend her ?? If the case was reversed, would he face the same situation. Instead I think his money would have played a key role.
Sui being a push over would have accepted her fate & remained with him. Maybe gone through marriage. He would never have given a thought to her sacrifice! I remember the protagonist in ‘You are my Destiny’ , the ‘Post it ‘ girl who never says ‘No’ to anyone & is piled on with work!
When Sui changes her job, her boyfriend starts missing her. Gets her followed, finds her & now, tries for a second chance. What?? For once I loved her for giving a direct ‘No’!
She wants to move on. She is not interested in rekindling a dead romance! Was it romance or a relationship of convenience ? For him, of course !
She is hurt because she expected more. Now she gets to know Mao, a junior guy who is the architect at the office. He helps her, saves her & probably also has feelings for her. He looks like Park hyung sik, sometimes, it feels good! Tall, lanky fellow.
But men in a Japanese drama are known to hold themselves back. They never express their feelings. Nor do they display any affection. But when she is spending time with a male staff or praising the architect from another firm, his jaw tightens. It is a sign.
They had come close to committing but held back. So, now they have a strained relation. Another female staff has always admired him. He accepts to be her boyfriend to protect her.
Now knowing that Hirose is divorced, he stops his work & takes a pause, sufficent to let us know that he cares for Sui.
It is around the 5th-6th episode, of the 10 episode series, he needs to work fast. Or else things can go south. Sui would not know. She is thinking of a better partner for him. Why does she decide if she is n’t right??
I happen to believe this is going to end soon. And not very favourably.
