Xu Hongdou, a soon to be promoted employee in a five star hotel ,nearing her mid 30s, faced a major obstacle in life. Her best friend unexpectedly falls ill with pancreatic cancer & died. Unable to come to terms with her friend’s loss, Xu finds it hard to continue working in the city.
She decides to quit her job & take a long break in a fictional rural village, Yun Miao, situated in Dali, Yunnan Province, Mainland China. A city her friend had longed to visit with her. She sub consciously begins her journey to discover the meaning & way of life.
As she changes the pace, so do we. It is serene, tranquil & I easily lost myself in it. We have ceased to admire the simple joys in life.
