Richard Roeper of the Chicago Sun Times gave 3/4 stars. He writes, ‘The chief delight is watching Coleman & Buckley in action, it ‘s really not much of a mystery, as the culpritis revealed to uslong before the townsfolk catch on’.
We now know because we have been fed on so many mysteries today! Considering it is 1920s!! The class difference , the gap, the treatment given to women, the suppression of emotions…. Today it could have been a psychological thriller with a gun or a hideous laugh thrown in.
A clean, clear charming tale .
