I am already through two seasons at a go. Finding the tread as strong in the third I am not surprised it is & has been number one show on Netflix.
Mel, who comes to Virgin River as a nurse & midwife , wants to leave her painful past & move on. Who does n’t? Given a chance anybody would jump in. With a scenic view & nowhere like LA she starts new friendships.
Doc Vernon is dead against hiring her, but gradually gets used to her help. His wife, Hope, who actually sent the ad is the most colorful person. She can ;t help but meddle in other ‘s affairs! I love her.
And Jack! Mel ‘s soulmate. He is hiding behind his war wounds & suffering. But knows he loves Mel wholeheartedly. Having Charmaine ready to deliver his twins. Is it immoral? By Indian standards, yes.
As the story progresses & Char chooses Todd to get engaged to, all is well. We have three pairs, Doc & Hope, Mel & Jack, Ricky & Lizze. But soon we may have more. With Brie & Brady going strong.
Hope gets stuck with her aging aunt. There is a hurricane & Doc cannot reach her. The telephone lines are down. No communication. He is upset & agitated. He wants to travel to Atlanta to search for Hope.
Every episode highlights the humane side of the characters. Not to forget Paige, her son Cristopher & Preacher, who works with Jack in his bar. Paige ‘s husband , Wes is dead But his twin appears, he wants to find Paige.
With so many characters & their back stories, the present 8 season also may have a few more to follow. The writing is superb. Dialogues tailormade for that character. Compelling performances & beautiful scenery.
Can you ask for more?
