Rated at 8.3 on IMDb.
Around the 16th episode as the two artists, Kit Church & Lilli are comsumed by the war aroung, they move apart. He goes forwards to his duties & she goes back to Japan. He maybe knows in his heart, but she has never confessed her feelings.
As reviewed by a fan, art, animation, story telling, characters, events even the passion of the artistsis extraordinarily done. Ditto. Lilli draws Catherine ‘s portrait, it is wonderful. So are the waves when the two star crossed lovers meet before separating. The scene is still itched on my mind. She makes him promise but just can’t say what is on her mind! Is it an Asian thing?
For the five years back in Yokohama, she helps her parents in their kimono shop but never paints. To do your thing, it requires a free mind. If Kit is dead or alive she has no idea. So, she decides to get married to Shin, her friend who she grows close to.
The picture frames are all black & white, as if her life has lost color. After meeting Kit, she starts with Blue. That color is a color on her palate. The rest of the colors are no color!
Actually, blue is associated with ‘having blues’ ,a negative sentiment, feeling down. Here, Lilli ‘s story starts with that Blue!
I enjoyed the story & felt I should go & shake those two. In this world, being too good or leaving to fate is just not done. One has to shape his/ her destiny.
