It is an Indian Hindi language crime thriller drama TV series. Co created by Ram Madhvani & Sandeep Modi, who also directed the series. with Vinod Rawat., serving as a co director. It stars Sushmita Sen in the title role.
It is based on the Dutch drama series Penoza (ni) by Pieter Bart Korthuis.
The series follows Aarya, an independent woman who seeks to protect her family& joins a mafia gang in order to get revenge for her husband’s murder.
Released on 19 June 2020. Till date season 3, episodes 25.
Filming locations Mumbai, Jaipur, Udaipur & Palgadh.
The series marked the comeback of Sushmita Sen, as well as her digital debut. She received the Best Actress -female at the Film fare OTT awards with the series having eight nominations.
Kajol was first approached for the title role. It was to be a feature film, a comeback project for her. Due to financial reasons she opted out. Then Madhuri Dixit & Kareena Kapoor were approached, but neither was finalized.
In May 2016, Aishwarya Bachchan was approached, filming was shelved a month before it’s start.
I wonder how we would have seen the series with a different actor! Sushmita has done an excellent job. Every frame belongs to her.
The oldie ‘Bade Achche Lagte hai’ plays again & again . It reminds us of the good old days, an era gone by. A fav of Chandrachud Singh, is our fav too. With all memories flashing by. From ‘Ballika Badhu; to the present.
