Attending a wedding in the family brought out so many thoughts. It is a major event in the life. It brings all of us closer, no doubt. But I was amazed at the scale of the event. The ‘sangeet’ at one hall & the ‘wedding’ took place in another.
Extravagant spending, flowers all over & the show. I am all for amusement. But I am also fascinated by the scale of things.
Look I am not denying the pleasure of watching but again I am drawn to the money spent. It is hard earned money. Someone has slogged for it.
It is all fun for a couple of days but the amount can surely be monitored. Loved to see all of them enjoying. Sure.
‘Big, fat, Indian weddings’ are they necessary? A simple event should suffice. Of course, I am in no position to be judgmental. It is totally in the hands of who want it.
Meeting so many of our relatives at one place is an event. We interact & we move ahead. Meeting so many at one place was so nice.
Such events give us the opportunity to interact. You avoid one & it’s your loss.
