It is a 2023Indian Hindi language medical drama film. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri & produced by Pallavi Joshi. The film features Nana Patekar, Pallavi Joshi, Raima Sen, Anupam Kher, Girija Oak, Nivedita Bhattacharya, Sapthami Gowda & Mohan Kapur.
It released theatrically on 28 September 2023 coinciding with Anant Chaturdashi.
It is a real retelling of the development of Covaxin during the Covid-19 pandemic in India, shedding light on the effort of scientists involved in the creation.
It garnered mixed reviews with Mudit Bhatnagar of Times Now rating it at 3.5 out of 5. Renuka Vyavhare of The Times of India rated the film with 2.5 out of 5 stars & wrote ” Nana Patekar is outstanding but the film reduces itself to being a government mouthpiece parading as a medical drama”
I don’t agree with them. It is a sincere effort to bring out the ceaseless efforts made by the lady scientists. Who knew of them? How many people knew their names? And the effect on their kids, family?
I salute all those unsung heroes. ‘India Can do it! ‘ is one of the best tag lines ever!!! Let us appreciate the work of Vivek Agnihotri who brought us another good piece of work. After ‘The Tashkent Files’ & ‘The Kashmir Files’ we get a great film.
