At the end of the eighth episode the viewership has risen to 16.18 to 16.86%. A steady rising. Dealing it humorously takes out the sting. For an intelligent woman denying education & growth she deserved is disappointing.
When she counsels the chairman she gets a standing ovation & a firm hold at the institute. Later giving hope to a dying mother is another achievement. Being a doctor, the daughter needed a push, to understand her mother!
Now, the depressed young man on the rooftop jumped with her in tow. Both Dr Seo & Dr Kim were agast. Racing down the stairs was a treat for us. Then the flustered Dr Cha ,with all the others outside the hospital, was confronted by both. Her husband managed only a ‘Are You Okay?’ but Dr Kim seized the opportunity to hug her. In front of the entire crowd!
We had never imagined this big a confession. Dr Kim has said it in action, in front of the entire mob! Letting all rumours to rest if Dr Seo had something going with the first year resident!!
Dr Cha knows about her son’s affair & now is close to disclosing her husband’s! When Dr Kim came to visit her he did not manage to say anything because of her mother-in-law appearing just at that moment!
Her mother-in-law is having a great time at the hospital & also at the cafe accepting gifts from her date. She has homemade drinks made by Dr Cha’s mother. The porridge & the drinks are her way of pleasing her.
The work has made Dr Cha confident to confront her husband & fight for her daughter’s choice of entering Art school. Also she knows she has a building on her name. She is able to support her daughter’s dreams with a loan if needed.
Forcing both children to pursue medicine, is a common dream of a Doctor father or parent. Developing nations have this fetish with education. The competition cut throat. All Asians are the same.
“Second 20s” has the same theme. The mother continues her education after a gap. Only she is not a Doctor. But her children find it embarrassing to have her as a class mate!
Old wine in a new bottle!
