The New House

It gives pleasure, a chance to live new. It helps build new connections & review again all the articles we collected over the years. It is clutter or a collection of memories…? The old things weeded out, is it really easy to throw it all?

New surroundings bring in new neighbours & new avenues. But how far does our mind admit it?? I still feel I am on a vacation. The rooms are new & nothing is at a place where it should be.

Forgetting what I came for something attracts the attention & I go on arranging things there. I plan to discard as many useless things as possible but let me tell you, it is a task! The boxes & the bags are in an array. I don’t think that is going to be easy.

Tell you what I got hold of the cutting knife, ‘Villi’ after a week! It was in front of me but I didn’t see it!!! Also the ‘polpat latane’ required the same time. Knife & cutting board felt different with a new ‘Ota’ also was used as ‘polpat’!!

We take it for granted that life is the same but it changes so suddenly & drastically. A long holiday & a change of venue.

A fact difficult to digest is that now you are no more the sole owner of the 500 sq.yard plot but a tenant in a flat having area of about 1800 sq, ft. and 4 other families reside in the same premises

The area is the same & yet different. On the same side of college road but the road looks different from here. Must have travelled this road for years, yet it is different, today! Sometimes it feels as if we have shifted to a new city.

However, one thing has not changed is the barking of a pet – dog. On the penultimate day of our shifting when we visited the new premises to survey the rooms we were welcomed by a barking doberman (pet of one of the neighbours)at the entrance. Since moving here we get his “darshan” at least 3-4 times a day.
