After the fourth episode doesn’t loosen the grip. Suddenly all the characters seem to have a motive & anybody could do it! Some move suspiciously at night or some others lift their phone & say,’I am coming!’ in the dead of the night. With a jungle out there it is eerie in the mornings.
I remember those trees being romantic in “Sharmili” with Shashi Kapoor chasing a shy Rakhee. The big boulders would change into Rakhee or he imagined her in every corner. The song was beautiful too. The concept of hill station will change forever it seems.
In ‘Raaj’ it was just a hill station with a couple having weird experiences but here the entire atmosphere is spooky. I would go so far as to criticise for having a strong performance from Raveena after so many years is a gift in itself!
The Indian Express review rightly says that the new inspector,Angad & Raveena exchanging flirtatious glances over meals was a bit too much. We know she is not happy with her husband & they are going through a rough patch. The change in their attitudes & the scene with the coroner, Anant Jog, is another. When she doesn’t know what a jugular vein is, it gives us a shock!
It could have been better. After putting in so much effort, it could have risen above the mundane. A day ago, Scroll. in. review said, A tale of two-legged & four -legged beasts! Wow, well said.
