A teacher teaches… is that her only job? Besides being in the classroom so many undecided factors decide her career..her pay..colleagues…office staff… the counselling… which happens every time, is a given. In the Psychology class, I came to know that the confidence you give or the praise a student gets …is all counselling.
Today’s zoom lecture fails miserably to bring the two together. An hour passes by but what he could ‘ve got in a class is certainly missed. The ppts & videos make for it but then there are too many available on You tube itself!
The personal touch is missing. The banter & the gossip is missing. The ritual of going to school or college is missing. My ears do hurt with a lot of noise but now I have withdrawal symptoms. 30 years have gone by & it is the latest situation which demands more than it gives. One has to give 100% but the returns are miserable. Neither party is happy.
What do we do with the latest gadgets & untouched minds..? Hope to have an academic new year with a lot of fun, laughter & campus brimming with the youth! Amen.
