A 2015 Marathi film which delighted me after a long long time. Renuka Shahane , Tushar Dalvi the actors who always have something good in their kitty. Avinash Masurekar in the old, intelligent father-in-law’s role. I have liked his style from his drama days. One of the under rated actors in the industry.
Leaving behind her daughter of one year, Renuka goes to the States to start her business. When she learns of her daughter getting married, she catches the next flight. Cancelling all her appointments, she arrives in India to attend the marriage.
Her daughter is unhappy with the marriage. Renuka then gives her a chance to run away with her boyfriend, Jay. How her would- be husband reaches in time & helps her is all good to see it on screen. Aaroh Velankar in that role is just there. Those scenes are very well taken. Why don’t our films explore this premise?
After ‘Woh Saat Din’ I expected the change happening in the eight days following the marriage. Then as I saw she is unhappy, may be the mother brings out a miracle in eight days? But revealing more will be telling the end. I am not doing it.
A good film that I started enjoying when she decides to run away. Again, Isn’t the same unsurety dealt with in ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai’ ? But it was a little too stretched. Till the end Mukta Barve remained with the dilemma. Why couldn’t they sit & talk about it sooner? Finally he helps her to take the decision, it could have been solved earlier! During all the preparations she is half heartedly there.
