The 2021 Korean show saw a dip in the ratings for this episode . The reason is simple. Nothing much happened. If it really had roots for something big to happen it remains to be seen.
Sa Pi-young’s husband is getting close to his “Mom”. Because he had promised his father to look after her, not by neglecting his own wife & daughter! She appears to have a hidden agenda. The shades of different women are interesting.
I abhor the idea of calling it ‘women issues’. If half of the population is women, shrinking gradually, how can the matters be concerning only ‘Women’? I have seen Park Joo -mi (Sa Pi-young ) in ‘Blood’ & in “My ID is Gangnam Beauty” but she has a better role here. She is all alone waiting for her husband to have dinner. She eats with her daughter. After being in a close relationship in a nuclear family, she feels the shift that is taking place.
Her daughter is getting close to her Grandma Mo, who has very little time left. She also manages to be at Ww ram’s pyjama party but doesn’t sleep over.
Jeon Soo-kyung as the writer has a huge impact. I had seen her earlier in ‘Chicago Typewriter’,’The Last Empress’ where again she had good roles. Her face, style is distinctive. No one can forget her in a hurry.
Her husband admits that he is seeing some one. But she refuses to divorce him. She asks him to be a father to the children & let the marriage be on paper only. If the children are hurt, I will not leave you! such scary words from her are something new! Displaying all our worries & discarding tears she stands up for her children & doesn’t bow down.
In the final scene their daughter watches her father with the other woman & asks him to meet her outside. Earlier she asks her mother where is father? To which she gets a reply as he is over to his friend for his house warming party & he must have slept over. Taking out the milk tetra pack from the fridge, the daughter is unconvinced.
Lee Ga -ryoung as the radio show host & wife of a lawyer for 3 years. I saw in ‘Beauty Inside’ as an actress. She confronts her in-laws & promises to be more supportive. She is ready to have a child. She manages to convince her in-laws who ask him to break up with the other woman. Her husband says he is scared of her.
