When I watched the Secret Affair I had seen this title which did not attract my attention but later I went through the entire drama & found my emotions on a see saw. A 2016 drama with a solid star cast.Seo Hyun -jin & Jeon Hye-bin both as Miss Oh hae Young, Eric Mun…one of the actors with a natural style.Kim Ji-seok in another fantastic roles. He does & utters everything which I would not have tolerated being done by an individual but it befits him like a second skin.I saw ‘When Camillie Blooms…’ earlier so here he is younger & immature,as hie role demands.
Two women with the same name share a destiny with the same man…this is the plot.One of them is supposed to be prettier than the other,of course both are equally nice.Again the issue arises…what is pretty? the face.complexion..i.e.the body or the nature? along with the characters we follow a string of events that lead us to the end.Both are in school together & have always been compared.
Seo is getting married to her boyfriend & Eric learns about it.He was stood up by his fiancee at the altar,his lawyer friend Kim finds an old school album & so Eric wrongly concludes that his fiancee is getting married.Its all due to the same name. Seo’s boyfriend calls off the wedding because Eric demolishes him.Now both are sailing in the same boat.When Eric meets Seo by chance his guilt deepens.He is regularly under treatment of a psychiatrist where he starts getting premonitions.First he gets disturbed ,later he finds he can change the course.He meets his fiancee,Miss Oh & finds he has no feelings left for her.But he watches Seo with her boyfriend,recently released from jail,he can’t stand it.
Kim’s story with Eric’s sister is hilarious.Firstly, she is elder to him.Secondly she remains pregnant & does want him to help her.Eric’s mother is another story.Telling her about her daughter’s pregnancy & Eric finding another Miss Oh…who will bell the cat? From all the girls around how the same name comes up again that ‘s the question.Eric’s younger brother & his girlfriend provide the glamour & the chatter missing in the house.
It had the highest audience rating & became one of the highest rated Korean drama in cable television history.Seo won the best actress award along with Ye Ji won who play’s Eric’s sister for the supporting role.She also won the best couple award with Kim Ji Seok.
In feb there came a news that this drama will be transformed into a musical.The songs will include .’.What is love’,’Like a dream’ & also ..’.if it is you’.The roles have been fixed & the musical will premiere in March.A drama that has the ability to transfix the audience now will entertain with good music too.We have the option to see it in drama form or as a musical.So, happy viewing!
