The title is catchy & so are the leads. As I said I like them both. Son Ye jin makes her entry as a busy, single, career woman first & then Jung Hae in just slips in as her best friend’s younger brother. He has a clear concept of what is happening but she takes time to accept it. He frequents her place as her brother is his age & has always been a part of the family. Son Ye is dumped by her boyfriend & then the real drama unfolds. It is directed by Ahn Pan-seok who has One spring night & secret affair to his credit. He likes to repeat his team members so if you follow closely you can easily identify them.
The scenes between Son Ye & Jung Hae in are very natural . One can see the story happen in front of our eyes.To hold back is a virtue. The clock is ticking & time is very short. That desperation is evident in their movements& it reaches us effortlessly. We know from the start that her parents would object to their age difference. That part is predictable. As passion gives way to the harsh reality She decides to assert herself. He is asking her to go to states & away from all hassels. She cuts him off & leaves her parents place to live alone. Her brother’s getting married when Jung hae arrives back to see that she has found a new boyfriend. Now that was too cliche!
By then I started wondering if I had made a wrong choice. Her friend Bo ra helps her to come to her senses & all ends well.It rained when they met & finally its raining again. Rain & umbrellas have a very significant role here.I especially liked the directorial touches.
Watched his Secret affair but couldn’t digest the title & theme. After the 11th episode it is racy & reaches the climax which is left to you.The leads have been much liked both of them are pretty good but my tastes are different. The music & the acting is something that holds you.A fortyish teacher falling for her twentyish student was the basic story.
I liked his One spring night. I watched it as soon as the new episode was uploaded. Its a thrill to wait a week & then watch. But its fresh nothing is available, no preview only a minute long clip may be seen on you tube plus if no english subs then only imagine what they say.Translators(good ones) are very few– I used to read their names like Blake Lee & others to whom I am extremely thankful.
I have picked up only –sorry & thank you– but wish to increase my vocab by the time I plan to visit both china & Korea.Jung Hae in is one of my favourites. We’ll talk about him next. By then keep reading & happy watching!
