It is a human drama which revolves around two debt collectors, Doo seok & Jong-bae, who take a nine year old girl Seung yi as ‘collateral’ from her mother, an illegal immigrant.
Released on 29 Sept. 2020. Generally positive reviews & became the sixth highest grossing Korean film of 2020.
Naver movie database rates it at 9.17 from the audience.
An Indonesian remake of the film , ‘Call me Dad’ was released on August 7, 2025. Actually I had started watching it. But after learning that it is based on the Korean film, I wasted no time.
The star cast is superb. Sung Dong il from the ‘Reply’ series is unforgettable. He was in ‘Hospital Playlist’2020 & again ‘Hospital Playlist 2’ in 2021.
Ha Ji won from ‘Secret Garden’2010- 11, ‘Empress Ki ‘ 2013 -14, these names are enough. Watching her is a delight.
In this film, the last few scenes are true tear jerker. A wad of tissues is a must. The emotions that carry us are powerful.
