Kohrra

It is an Indian Punjabi language crime thriller, police procedural TV series. Created by Sudip Sharma & others. Directed by Randeep Jha. Starring Barun Sobti, Mona Singh, Surinder Vicky.

Premise : Season 1 : A bridegroom is found dead in a field two days before the wedding. Police try to find the murderer.

Season 2 : A woman is found dead in her brother’s barn. Police try to find the murderer.

The series premiered on 15 July 2023 on Netflix. Season 2 on Netflix on 11 Feb. 2026.

At the 2023 Filmfare OTT awards it received 9 nominations.

Kohrra has a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 100%.

Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV praised the acting performance, screenplay & direction of the show & gave 3.5 stars/5. Shubhra Gupta of The Indian Express wrote, ‘Both the murder mystery & a sharp examination of contemorary Punjab & the Punjabi psyche, location & history play significant roles’.

Shilajit Mitra of The Hindu wrote, ‘Like ‘Memories of Murder’ 2003 , Kohrra opens on a vast, verdant field. A body is discovered by the wayside. We get an exchange between a stunned young boy & a small town cop.’

Season 2 has the body in the barn. The brother, her estranged husband Sam in US & her friend/ lover Jonny on the run. We are following closely on the heels of the two police, Mona Singh & Barun Sobti.
