The series focuses on Nico Wakatsuki, a teenage witch who , after completing her magical training, moves into a house with her childhood friend, Morihito Otogi, a human -looking ogre.
Due to their ancestral history, Morihito is to become Nico’s familiar & protect her. From the first episode they face unpredictable problems in their daily lives, caused due to Nico ‘s magic .
Timothy Donohoo of Comic Book Resources compared it to Kouji Miura ‘s Blue Box & Shigure Tokita ‘s Don’t Blush, Sekime-san! due to both series having concepts & romantic aspects similar to ‘Witch Watch’s.
I found ‘Blue Box’ calmer & yet to watch ‘Don’t Blush..’. But the drama is pure & serene. We can see Nico having a crush & Mori just wants to protect her.
A season 2 is in the offing. It is very well received.
