It is a sequel to ‘De De Pyaar De ‘ 2019.
Theatrically released on 14 Nov. 2025. It received mixed reviews from critics & under-performed at the box office. It began streaming on Netflix from 9 January 2026.
Made on a budget of Rs 150 Crores, it garnered Rs 104.67 Crores.
Photography commenced in June 2024 & was held in Punjab & London.
Anil Kapoor was initially signed to play Rakul’s father, but later opted out & was replaced by R. Madhavan. Without this know how, we kept on thinking of him all through the film. The role has his stamp!
First the director had dengue, then Rakul suffered from spinal injury that kept her bedridden for 40 days. She resumed shooting after 3 months break. Finally the film was done!
Shubhra Gupta of The Indian Express gave 2.5 stars. NDTV gave 3 of 5 stars. Radhika Sharma wrote, ‘Age is the elephant in the room, a topic that the film doesn’t brush under the carpet’.
India Today gave 3 of 5 stars. ‘It is fun, breezy rom com that combines humor, family drama& familiar charm. The casting is awkward but the film doesn ‘t disappoint’.
I had been aiming for some fun. It was. After a heavy dose of suspense & mystery I wanted something light & frothy. It is!
