It is an Indian Hindi language drama thriller film. Written & directed by Tisca Chopra. It is her directorial debut. Starring Radhika Apte, Divyendu Sharma, Anurag Kashyap.
The film follows Smita, a small town housewife whose life takes a dark turn as she becomes entangled in emotional & psychological conflict. The narrative explores betrayal, trust, shifting identities & moral ambiguity within relationships.
The film premiered at the 55th International Film Festival of India in Goa in 2024. It was later shown at the Chicago South Asian Film Festival . It was released direct-to-digital release on ZEE5 on 12 December 2025.
Reports noted that Chopra shaped the script around the Geeta colony double murder case. The adaptation places fictional narrative in a small town & focusses on the experiences of a house wife.
Rahul Desai of The Hollywood Reporter India says, it is too familiar to be twisted. Anuj Kumar of The Hindu says, ‘Tisca Chopra shows promise’ Rishabh Suri of The Hindustan Times gave 3 out of 5 stars. ‘Radhika Apte gives a strong performance but the film falters at the climax’.
Sreeparna Sengupta of The Times of India gave 3.6 stars out of 5. & said, ‘The director weaves in a captivating suspense & delivers a sumptuous mystery that one can sink their teeth into’.
The critics believe that the length should have been short. That gets a bit tiring & the end comes slowly.
It makes a good viewing.
