Trans. Kaalidhar is missing. It is an Indian Hindi language drama film.Written & directed by Madhumita. Starring Abhishek Bachchan, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub & Daivik Bhagela.
It is the Hindi remake of Madhumita ‘s 2019 Tamil Film K D.
The story follows Kaalidhar, a middle aged man, experiencing memory loss is left in the Kumbh mela by his family. He finds them only to overhear that they don ‘t wish to pay his hospital bills.
Kaalidhar meets Ballu, an eight year old orphan. The unlikely duo form a bond & set out on a road trip across India to fulfill items on Kaalidhar ‘s bucket list, leading him to discover joy & purpose.
It premiered on Z5 on 4 July 2025 to mixed reviews.
Abhishek has evolved into an accomplished actor. He gets better with every film. His mannerisms & walk is like that of an old man. He is the helpless, abandoned man left out by his own family. Extreme selfishness.
Later they try to find him because his signature is required for selling the house & the assets.
The boy when asked by the doctor, ‘Who is he ?’ He replies ‘My everything!’ tells it all. An orphan he does n’t want to go to school & leave the old man ‘s side. Being together is all he wants ! Love & affection for an unknown man!!
The two facets of life in jarring contrast make a whole in the end.
Nimrat Kaur in a tiny role shines, as Abhishek ‘s love interest. Guest appearance or a cameo is all it needs for a good actor to be remembered.
Rotten Tomatoes gave a 6.5 /10. Shubhra Gupta of The Indian Express gave 2 of 5 stars. ‘Child actor Dalvik, a wide smile lighting up his face is a natural.’
Snehal Dingra gave 4 of 5 stars. ‘Abhishek Bachchan once again proves his emotional depth in his film. Delivering a performance that brings life & connection to the screen’.
Sajin Shrijith of The Week’ states that ‘Abhishek Bachchan is in top form in an imperfect, yet necessary film’.
