It is an office drama about Hyo min, a rookie lawyer at Yullim Law firm, who is upright & confident. Awkward in social life. With the help of her partner , the cold but experienced , talented lawyer Seok-hoon, she flourishes into a full fledged lawyer.
It premiered on 2 August 2025.
Series is directed by Kim Jae hong, who co-directed ‘Love Scout’ 2025.
Viewership rose from 3.703% to 4.714% for the second episode. All of 12 episodes, it is interesting.
I stumbled upon the gem casually. Once the rookie entered the interview room, so did I. From trying to wipe the curry stain from her white blouse, cracked glass of her watch (or was it her mobile ?) and the unpolished shoes. Haven’t we all been there ?
Trying to present our best & failing miserably? Starting an hour earlier & yet missing the station , then running to the venue !!! Reaching the lobby after your name has been announced !!!
Given that she is a topper & the best in her work, some may perceive her as sloppy . Wasting time on the profits of last seven years when nobody bothered !
‘A dog with the bone’ she is engrossed in her work & does n’t report to the office on time. Her senior is cynical & a God of punctuality. He has never been late so he wants her disciplined irrespective of the work she did diligently.
His back story looks sad. He has lost his family , the reason why he is cold & hard. But he also appreciates effort . He is present when she is in court. Watching her every move. Of course no words of encouragement!
Don’t we all behave like that. It is so difficult for us to whole heartedly appreciate someone. And a junior, a rookie, no way !
May be it hits closer home & is more realistic. A gem.
I have been watching courtroom dramas, ‘Vincenzo’ the stylish pair, ‘Lawless Lawyer’ the handsome lawyer, ‘Law & the City’ with Lee Jong suk & Moon Ga young , legal drama focusing on young lawyers in Seocho-dong Law town in Seoul.
I have watched one episode but it is real! With only 2 being loaded, I have one more to go.
