Jinxed At First (2022)

It is a South Korean fantasy, romance TV series. Written by Jang Yoon mi, directed by Yoon Sang ho, Starring Seohyun, Na in woo, Jun Kwang ryul, Yoon Ji hye.

It is based on the webtoon “Jinx’s Lover “written by Han Ji hye & illustrated by Goo Seul.

It tells the story of a bright young man , Soo kwang , who graduated from Korea university. He is poor & famous for being unlucky. He meets Lee Seul bi, a girl who can see the future of everyone she touches.

One day, Seon Min joon’s friends visit his house. A miracle happens, the door that locked Seul bi & her mother opens, the curious Seul bi comes out & meets Soo kwang. Seul bi follows him to his place.

His life changes drastically.

The viewership of the drama never really go up but it was watched & well received, fetching laurels for both.

Seohyun as the lead is good. I watched her in ‘The Producers’ 2015, & ‘Warm & Cozy’ 2015, ‘Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo’ 2016 & ‘Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok -joo” 2016, ‘The First Night with the Duke’ 2025.

She is younger with chubby cheeks. In her simple white frock, she gives the feel of ‘The Legend of the Blue Sea’. jun Ji hyun , the mermaid is simple, honest & unaware of modern gadgets. In ‘My Girlfriend is a Gumiho” Shin Min ho with a white frock looks elegant.

‘Just My Luck’ 2006 American movie has Lindsay Lohan , a successful & extremely lucky executive has her luck swapped when she kisses a stranger at a masquerade ball. It has the same scene of foam coming out of the washing machine.

Seohyun coming out of the closed room for the first time has tried to cook. Burning the fried eggs, smoke from the microwave & soapy bubbles all over the washroom.

Also it reminds of another drama, ‘Behind your touch’. 2023, Han Ji min as the veterinarian with psychometric powers. She gained psychic powers to see into people’s past.

Na In woo in the lead is fresh, with a mobile face & the typical bright, poor boy. He was in ‘Twenty’ 2015, ‘Cinderella with Four Knights’ 2016, ‘Mystic Pop-Up Bar’ 2020, ‘Mr Queen’ 2020-21, ‘Marry My Husband’ 2024.

In 2022, he won the Best couple award with Seohyun for ‘Jinxed at First’. After 2021, he has not looked back. From cameos to the lead roles his journey has been great.
