It is an ongoing South Korean TV series. Written by Lee Seung hyun & directed by Park Seung woo. Starring Lee Jong -suk, Moon Ga young, Kang You seok, Ryu Hye young & Im Seong -jae.
The series tells the story of associate lawyers of Seocho Judicial Town. Ahn Joo hyung, Kang Hee ji, Jo Chang won, Bae Moon jung & Kang Sang ki are labelled as the five members of the ‘Associate Lawyers Avengers ‘ share their precious lunch breaks together & work at Seochodong Judicial Town.
The viewership has risen from 4.614% to 6.111% for the sixth episode , with six more to go.
Lee Jong suk is a nine year lawyer with a high level of fact driven logic at Kyungmin Law Firm. He chose to become a lawyer because he enjoys logic & cases.
Moon Ga young joins them later. She is a second year lawyer at Johwa Law Firm. She believes that ‘if you change one individual’s life, you change that individual’s world’.
Im Seong jae is a good natured individualist. He runs a restaurant blog called ‘ Lawyer’s Table’ & faithfully uploads the meals he ate at their gatherings.
Their gatherings have the same feel as that in ‘Hospital Playlist”. Remember how Jo Jung suk & Yoo Yeon seok stuffed themselves before they let in Jung Kyung ho & Jeon Mi do !
Yoo Yeon seok is Dr Ahn Jeong won loved by his tiny patients & women all over. Here, Lee Jong suk is Ahn Joo hyung.
It is too early but to have a peek in the leads past will be interesting.
‘Vincenzo’ or ‘Lawless Lawyer’ have more drama. Also their viewership is enviable.
On a serious note, the lady lawyer Priyanka Borana has written about networking often decides who gets noticed. She admits she had seniors who supported her but not due to skills but the environment is not always welcoming or open to the women who feel like outsiders in the profession.
I would add that the perception of the society is narrow minded that the women are seen with colored glasses. Camber talks, birthday parties or cricket matches often lead to important insights , many women miss out because they are not invited or don’t feel comfortable being there.
I may add that it is not only lawyers but any profession which requires the women to work twice to get the credit or to be acknowledged. A male junior who chats freely with seniors might be called dynamic . But a female junior doing the same ? She might be labelled overconfident !
Of course we are taking some time but moving in the right direction, for sure!
