Only the second Indian to travel to space & the first from the country to visit the International Space Station (ISS ), Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla returned to the Earth on Tuesday. After a 20 day landmark journey to the space that prepares the ground for India ‘s own human spaceflight mission, Gaganyaan.
Anonna Dutt reports, assisted by two people & with a broad smile on his face , Shukla emerged from the space capsule , getting his first feel of Earth in almost three weeks with a few tentative steps.
The space capsule named Grace carrying Shukla, Peggy Whitson from US, Slawosz Uznanski-Wisniewski of Poland & Tibor Kapu of Hungary had slashed down in the cold waters of the Pacific Ocean, off the coast of California exactly 50 minutes earlier.
Watching the news & looking at his face was as if watching a Sci-fi movie. Just earlier when watching different movies with awe & expecting a ride to the moon covertly, we saw our vision blur. The dreams actually happen.
‘When the Stars Gossip’ happened not very long ago & watching it intently I had never thought it happening so fast & so soon.
What a moment!
