Raid (2018)

It is an Indian Hindi language crime thriller film. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. Starring Ajay Devgn, Saurabh Shukla, Ileana D’Cruz.

It is based on the real life income tax raid conducted by the officers of Income Tax Department on Sardar Inder Singh in the 1980s, which distinguished itself from others for being the longest raid in Indian history.

An IRS officer Amay Patnaik is transferred to Lucknow as Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, where he lives happily with his wife, Malini. On day he receives a tip about black money hoarded by MP Rameshwar Singh, the don of Sitagarh. who has evaded income tax foe a long time.

Under the hostile family Amay & his team try every nook & corner of the house. No success. Another letter , along with the map , reveals the location of the money in the house. Walls are brought down & then assets worth crores are found.

Released on 16 March 2018. Made on a budget of Rs 40 crores, it garnered Rs 153 .62 crores.

A critical & commercial success at the box office. Mirchi Music Awards awarded ‘Sanu Ek Pal’ won the Recreated Song of the Year.

When the team is searching, and money is not found, we feel the frustration as our own. When Rameshwar attacks Amay’s wife, she narrowly escapes & we heave a sigh of relief.

Why are honest & diligent people tested so hard ??? Why are principles always tested ?? Life of a diligent officer is so tough.

The goons have it easy. I have always wondered why the testing is so tough for the good people ??

As he transfers to a new city , to a better (?) future…
