Ever Wong is a Taiwanese girl from Chagrin, Ohio. She is studying in premed. The summer before she starts medical school, her parents send her to a summer school program in Taipei called Huewei. Hoping her to learn about her culture & study mandarin.
She gets introduced to Rick Woo, the ‘wonder boy’ & his cousin, Sophie Ha. The rich boy, Xavier Yeh, who is an artist. Unexpected romance leads her to question her future.
The film is based on Abigail Hing Wen’s 2020 novel ‘Loveboat, Taipei’.
Rated at 5.8.
It was released by Paramount on August10, 2023.
I don’t think the story is different from so many dramas but the scenic Taipei, the leads & the artist’s studio are worth watching.
