Parineeta

Vidya Balan is celebrating 20 years of her debut in ‘Parineeta’ & being mentored by Pradeep Sarkar. Being in a couple of advertisements & rejected by a director for ‘not looking so nice’, she has come a long, long way.

After Rekha , she is probably the only one of our times to drape a saree & look , shine as a diva. Incidentally, both from South India wear golden or typical south silks with white pearls or delicate, intricate golden , decent jewelry.

In her interview she says she hardly talked to Saif with whom she shared so much screen time. Their chemistry was good. With Sanjay Dutt, she shared a friendly banter. Both were stars working with a newcomer but Vidya being Vidya…

She is the only actress after Dimple Kapadia ( Bobby, 1975 )who was launched into the movies as a titular actor. She has 96 nominations & 48 wins till date. With the National award she has Padma Shri for her work in the films. Her film choices, marriage did not affect her fan following.

Having followed her from her ads I can safely say I have seen most of her work & a loveable star like her is hard to find.
