Smile

Isn’t it so easy to kick start your day!!! Pune pulse gives a list of five feel good Bollywood films. That are pure joy to watch.

1 Munna Bhai MBBS.

Sanjay Dutt at his best. A kind hearted gangster who decides to become a doctor to fulfill his father’s wish. Full of humour, warmth & dreams. Memorable characters ( Circuit!) The right kind of comedy & emotion that never fails.

2 Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

A road trip through Spain turns into a journey of healing, self -discovery & friendship. Three childhood friends Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar & Abhay Deol conquer their fears ,embrace life. The leading ladies, Kalki & Katrina provide the right amount of glamour & depth to the story.

With this why isn’t the other good film included, I wonder. ‘Dil Chahata Hai’ which also explored friendship & maybe predictable at the end, it entertains & invigorates. Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan & Akshay Khanna.

Only Marathi film, ‘Bindaas’ has two girls exploring their limits & taking life in their hands.

3 English Vinglish

Sridevi’s graceful return to the screen as Shashi, a homemaker under estimated for her lack of English, is empowering & endearing. It is a warm uplifting story about identity, respect & rediscovering your own voice.

4 Jab We Met

Geet, the endlessly optimistic , talkative Punjabi girl played by Kareena Kapoor. Her accidental travel companion, Aditya (Shahid Kapoor) is brooding & heart broken. Their journey across India is filled with laughter, emotional twists & chemistry that lights up the screen.

A romantic comedy that makes you believe in joy, love & second chances.

5 Queen

When her wedding falls apart, Rani (Kangana Ranaut) chooses to go on her honeymoon alone. She ends up finding herself, instead. From the streets of Paris to the cafes of Amsterdam , she discovers courage, unexpected friendships.

It is a celebration of womanhood, resilience & the strength that comes from embracing who you truly are.

These cinematic gems remind you of the joy in everyday life. Another Marathi film ‘Navra Maza Navsacha’ is a evergreen movie. You can start, pause or repeat it any number of times.

We need to believe in cinema & the relief it gets you instantly. Come on, start!
