After watching at least 100s of Korean dramas, I watched ‘Hidden Love’ a Chinese drama which set a new trend. Japanese Anime & a few Chinese dramas were my past experience.
‘Hidden Love’ 2023 drama is soft, serene & soothing. Most of the costume dramas I had watched had good stories but the settings a bit artificial. The trees or the blooms a bit plasticly.
This story, falling for her elder brother ‘s friend , unfolds at a comfortable pace. Chen Zheyuan & Zhao Lusi are lovable. The real life settings are adorable.
‘Amidst a Snowstorm of Love’ 2024 which is set against the backdrop of the game of billiards. Zhao Jinmai & Leo Wu as the leads shine through.
Later ‘The First Frost’ 2025 is more engrossing. Zhang Ruonan & Bai Jingting in the leads. It is a slow burn romance. From high school to adult hood the span is long. Their relationship evolves over time.
‘Falling into Your Smile’, ‘Love is Sweet’, ‘When I fly towards You’, ‘The Rational Life’, ‘Find Yourself’, ‘Only For Love’, ‘Love O2O’, ‘Put Your Head on My Shoulder’, ‘Unrequited Love’, ‘Lighter & Princess”, ‘My Girl friend is an Alien’, ‘Hello, Mr Gu’, ‘A Love so Beautiful’, ‘Ski Into Love’ are just some of the titles.
The actors, direction, story gradually has reached the viewers taste. It keeps improving.
