It is an Indian Hindi language comedy film. Written & directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa. Starring Rajkummar Rao, Tripti Dimri.
In Rishikesh, 1997 Vidya, a doctor, calls off her arranged marriage & instead tricks her parents into letting her marry her childhood sweet heart, Vicky, a mehndi artist. On their honeymoon to Goa, they record their first night.
At night, their home is burglarized with most valuables being taken. Most importantly the CD player with the CD is lost. Then starts the chase to get the CD before it gets viral.
Released on 11 October 2024. Principal photography took place in Rishikesh.
It garnered est. Rs 55.51 crores worldwide.
It received negative reviews. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 3.4/10. Shubhra Gupta of ‘The Indian Express ‘ gave it 1.5 stars & criticized the screen play saying that ‘the comedy film has exactly five lines that make you chuckle’.
Rishabh Suri of ‘Hindustan Times’ observes that ‘ A fun first half where every joke lands is ruined by a boring second half that irritates you.’
Having started it once, after ten minutes I had switched to something else. But yesterday I re started & absolutely did not find the premise entertaining. But both the leads are good, so I kept on watching. Phew. Finished it.
It is a good actors going waste. It could have been better. The story being better would have helped.
Songs new & old are good. But those alone cannot lift the script.
