The Potato Lab

It ended with a modest 1.58% viewership. It had a one line story & almost no upheavals. She had been sacked long ago. Her trauma is now replaced by her research on potatoes.

When Director So Baek -ho comes down to the lab from Seoul, he is unaware of the sea change that is going to happen in his life. He has always followed orders. He has fired so many people in his entire career. But when he comes across Kim Mi kyung, he realizes he was the one who fired her. For no reason but because the higher ups told him!

He starts looking at his work from humane point of view. He falls for her hard enough to quit his job.

He is working but has quit his job in Seoul. She is more busy & he now throws tantrums. In the final scene when they go for the market potatoes, their style reminds of the two lawyers in ‘Vincenzo’ but downsized.

Both the leads are lovable. But they do not have strong scenes, personalities or sizzling chemistry. I wouldn’t call it chemistry but he was good opposite ‘Attorney Woo’! She has never been so convincing!

Kang Tae oh is a soft actor. His stories are soft, sensitive & smooth. He never dashes on you. He is never overbearing. But with a good story he can be very charming!!!

The second pair is good. But their footage is limited. Also her ex- boyfriend Park Ki se is a jerk. But later when he faces his problems, he emerges a better person. The story does not cash in on finer points!

This show is okay. Once a ‘dekho’. No repeat.
