After finishing 27 episodes, I marvel at the strong female lead here. Jiang Si, the fourth lady of Dongping Bo Mansion is reborn after dying at the hands of her lover, Yu Jin.
First she breaks up with her fiancé Ji Chong Yi, when she comes to know he has a secret lover. Also when she confronts him, he pushes her into the river. Yu Qi saves her.
She faces her aunt & grandmother confidently. They do not support her decision. But she obtains a letter of annulling her engagement from Ji Chong Yi.
Then she escapes the clutches of Qian’s husband & also helps Jiang Qian get a divorce from her pervert husband.
Flatly refuses the advances of Zhen Heng, an upright magistrate. He is aware of her feelings for the second commander, Yu Qi.
Helps Jiang Yi to leave her husband & step out confidently. She comes to her father with her daughter. Si tries to involve her in the perfumery that is doing well.
Thinking that their fates may not allow a happy ending, she remains neutral or tries to brush away Yu Qi’s advances. But when the emperor accepts him as the seventh prince, she participates in the flower banquet & he gifts her with all six peonies.
Of the 40 episodes , 27 are over. Anything can happen. Wishing for the best. I have not gotten over the end of ‘Goodbye My Princess’ yet.
