Jyotika as Varuna is an educated, ambitious lady. Her husband Shankar works in Viva Life, a firm under investigation for Moderna, a drug under scanner. After child birth, her husband did not inform her of the letter to rejoin.
Facing lack of funds for her boutique, she joins the group of women. She also recruits the researcher to make their drug. Bhowmick Bose ( Santanu Ghatak )is not very happy with the arrangement.
Sai Tamhankar as Preeti, the female police officer is investigating the case & helping Mr Pathak ( Gajraj Rao, in yet another excellent role ). She gets close to Shahida, the broker. Anjali Anand in a good role that has little to do, but impressive.
Veteran actress Shabana Azmi as Sheila, the mother-in-law of Raji ( Shalini Pandey ). She is headstrong & protective of her pregnant daughter-in-law. She had a brush with drugs, police in the past & is well versed with the evil.
Nimisha Sajayan as Mala , a household maid with Raji & Varuna. Daring & Ready to venture out.
Lillete Dubey as Moushimi, is Sheila’s long standing friend. She is polished & works in upper circles. Cartelling to the elite.
Sushmita Mukherjee as Tejaswi Tijori in a small role.
The web series proves crime never pays both thematically & metaphorically.
Hindi language films ‘Chakra’ & ‘Chandni Bar’ come to mind. The women want out but fate has them take the same route.
