Gene Hackman

Born Eugene Allen Hackman in San Bernardino, California on Jan. 30, 1930. He died on Feb. 18, 2025 at the age of 95 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. US.

He is considered one of the greatest American actors of his generation. He was a paragon of the New Hollywood movement. His acting career spanned over four decades.

He was found dead along with his wife, Betsy Arakawa at their home, on Feb. 26, 2025. He died of heart disease complicated by advanced Alzheimer’s disease around Feb. 18, a week after Arakawa died from hantavirus pulmonary syndrome.

He was one of the best loved stars in Hollywood, appearing in classic films such as ‘The French Connection’, ‘The Conversation’ & ‘Superman’.

It is a great loss to the actor community & the industry as a whole. The way in which the dead bodies were discovered is unsettling.

In his condition, he may have not known about his wife’s demise. Both the bodies found by the security along with one of their dogs. No foul play. Carbon monoxide poisoning is ruled out. But still it leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Person, just any one, is entitled to care & immediate attention. She was his sole caretaker. When she stopped stepping out, why nobody noticed?

It just does not feel right.
