It is a South Korean TV series. Written by Kim Ji woon. Directed by Jo Soo won, Kim young hwan, Lee Gye joon. Starring Ji Sung, Lee Se young, Lee Kyu hyung, Hwang Hee.
It is based on the Japanese novel ‘On Hand of God’ by Yo Kusakabe. A recurring theme throughout the series is the debate over euthanasia.
Cha Yo han is a doctor of anesthesiology. A bit strange but a genius at his work.Kang Shi young is a resident of anesthesiology who works with Cha Yo-han. They try to find the causes of their pain & treat them.
Right from the first frame it is gripping. Dr John’s behaviour is eccentric. He is skilled & very helpful. The resident joins the team because of money. Her uncle is the prison warden. So she gets the part time job.
On an average the viewership was between 8.3% & 9 %. An episode or two also shows a spike. But generally it was well received.
In 2019, at the 12th Korea Drama awards the Excellence award was won by Lee Kyu hyung. At the 27th SBS Drama Awards, Excellence award in Mini series went to Lee Se young & Child actor award to Yoon Chan young.
I wonder why Ji sung did not make it. Of course I don’t know which shows were in the run then.
