A rich ‘bad boy’ falls in loe with an innocent but tenacious woman who went to prison for her boyfriend’s ‘hit & run’ murder. As the story unfolds , secrets begin to unravel.
It started with 4.7% & went on to 15.4% by the end of the 16th episode.
In 2013, at the KBS Drama awards both Ji Sung & Hwang Jung eum won Top excellence awards. Best supporting actor by both Lee Da hee & Bae Soo-bin. Netizen’s Choice award for Hwang Jung eum & Popularity award for Ji Sung.
They also won the Best couple award.
In 2014, at the 2nd Asia Rainbow TV awards ‘Secret Love’ won the Outstanding Modern Drama award.
Later Malay 2018, Turkish 2017- 18 & Vietnamese 2024 dramas were adapted .
After watching the pair in ‘Kill Me, Heal Me’ I wanted to watch this drama. The first episode is so happening. She gets a ring twice in a day! Two rings that is.
Also the rainy day & a murder felt like watching ‘Misty’. The girl giving money to the boyfriend was like ‘A French Kiss’ or ‘Hindi version ‘Pyaar toh hona hi tha’. Why are girls so gullible ??
As the story says , the girl takes the blame. In ‘The Innocent Man’ the boyfriend takes the blame & sacrifices his career. Song Joong ki in his best role, so far. I have yet to like his girlfriend from the show.
Only here the girl goes to prison. Also she is met with an interesting man than her selfish boyfriend. He has no shame in proposing to her when his family is busty looking for his match elsewhere!
I have seen Ji sung in ‘Familiar Wife’ & Hwang Jung -eum in ‘She was Pretty’, ‘Mystic Pop up Bar’, ‘Lucky Romance’.
