I found the length too long. Editing could have been sharper. The issue is universal. Taking care of the elders was a given. But with nuclear families, it becomes tough. The lady of the house is juggling her domestic chores with her job or career, it then becomes a burden.
With joint families, the chores got divided which does not happen today. So, both the parents are busy. Hospital bills, Hospice or nursing homes & caring for the children becomes too much.
Along with money we have an exalted self esteem & low patience. Friction is common. We see that on roads, long queues or long wait. More money or spending money is no issue but giving time is.
The story although relatable gets heavy & I found myself expecting it to end quickly. I get the drift, move on. Also sitting in one place for long without a break, was taxing. Going home to have dinner was my aim.
I wonder if distributing some snacks is a good idea. Not samosa or batata Wada but a packet of chips could have helped. Not only the soldier but any common man needs nutrition ( if you call that !) periodically. Binging on dry fruits or fruits would be better.
Next I plan to watch a movie with a packet of my own choice & remain in my seat for long. I had to forgo the interview that followed with Ms Nanda Yadav. She had come prepared. It looked like she was eager to meet us.
After web series & TV shows, this film gave her the impetus she needed. Hope this year brings her more of success!
