It is an American made for television Christmas fantasy comedy film. Directed by George T, Miller . Produced by Walt Disney Television. Starring the late Olivia Newton-John, Juliet Sorci, late Doug Sheehan & Doris Roberts.
The film marked Newton-John’s television film debut & her first film appearance in seven years since ‘Two of a Kind’ (1983). It was written by Gerald Di Pego based on the book ‘A Mom By Magic’ by Barbara Dillon.
Jessica is a 11 year old girl. She wishes for a mother during the Christmas season. Her wish comes true when Amy Miller, a mannequin comes to life. She enters Jessica ‘s life as her new mother.
It originally premiered on December 17, 1990. Production was centered around the former Shillito’s Department Store (later Lazarus / Macy ‘s ) in Cincinnati.
The magic of Christmas gets to you. By the end we start wishing for Amy to be there forever. We aren’t Jessica but her tears do that!
