It an Indian Marathi language comedy drama film. Directed & produced by Sachin Pilgaonkar. It is a sequel to the 2004 film Navra Maza Navsacha. It features Hemal Ingle & Swapnil Joshi as the daughter & son-in-law of Sachin & Supriya Pilgaonkar. The film also stars Ashok Saraf, Siddharth Jadhav & Nirmiti Sawant in supporting roles.
Made on a budget of Rs 8 crores it garnered Rs 24 Crores. It emerged as the second highest grossing Marathi Film in 2024.
Nineteen years after fulfilling their sacred vow, Bhakti & Vacky are living a peaceful life with their daughter Shraddha. Every year, they follow a cherished family tradition of immersing a Ganesh idol on the shores of Ganapatipule.
Shraddha now, deeply in love with Lamy has her relationship blessed y her parents. Bhakti & Vacky wanting to include Lamby in their family traditions , ask him to partake in the yearly Ganesh idol immersion. Lamby, an atheist, refuses , leaving Bhakti & Vacky heartbroken.
This decision causes tension, with Shraddha contemplating ending the relationship. But unexpected events compel Lamby to reconsider his stance. Now, the train journey to Ganapatipule is colorful & eventful.
The film was shot in Ratnagiri & various other locations within Konkan, Maharashtra.
The film was released outside Maharashtra in Hyderabad, Bangalore & Belgaum. It premiered in the US, Canada, Australia & New Zealand.
Mihir Bhanage of The Times of India rated it a 3/5, saying it is a light hearted, family oriented comedy that leans on situational humor & punchlines, reminiscent of classic Marathi comedies.
Chinmay Jagtap of Sakal says it succeeds due to it’s strong performances from a talented cast. While it may not fully compare to the first film, it offers humor that appeals to a typical Marathi audience. A relatable story about a vow, featuring the nostalgic element of travelling by Konkan Railway.
Shriya Pilgaonkar in a special appearance. Also Ali Asgar, Jonny Lever & Sonu Nigam are stunning. They continue in the sequel.
efore the first film there was only one , dear friend they missed, Laxmikant Berde, But after 20 years , nine people are missing. We have lost so many good artists.
Another enjoyable family entertainer.
